Having a loved one who is suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia is difficult. Fortunately research is being conducted to understand more about Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
What is Alzheimer’s Disease?
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. It is not part of the normal aging process. A vast majority of people with Alzheimer’s are 65 and over. Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that gradually worsens over time. Memory loss and disturbances in everyday reasoning are associated with the disease. Unfortunately there is not a current cure, but there is more and more research and attention being brought to the subject.

What is dementia?
Dementia is a general term used when the severity of mental ability lost affects your daily life. Memory loss is an example of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia.
How do we treat Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia?
Our facility has secure units with skilled and supportive staff who assist residents with all aspects of living. We keep the environment safe and comfortable so residents feel at home. The extra support is provided to help residents and families feel more at ease with the given care.

The Memory Maker Project
This is an arts and cultural based program specifically designed to meet the needs of residents who have dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. This program provides resident stimulation as well as facility exposure to the people and organizations affiliated with the program in the outside community.
