COVID-19

COVID-19 Information

Willow Point is taking a strong approach to COVID-19.  We understand the safety of our residents and staff is of the upmost importance.  New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services continues to issue new guidance to combat this horrific pandemic.  Willow Point makes it a point to stay abreast of all changes that will improve safety here at the facility while maintainly the highest level of care and quality of life as we can for residents.  Our challenges have been great but with the continued support of our staff, residents, and community there is no challenge we cannot overcome.

Visitation

We know you missed your loved ones and they miss you.  Willow Point continues to follow all NYSDOH regulations as they pertain to visitation.  We are happy to allow visitation at this time however please note that visitation can ease upon the discovery of a new resident or employee COVID-19 result.  We are open to visitation at this time with some restrictions in place.

Pandemic Emergency Plan

The New York State Department of Health issued a directive that all Nursing Home Facilities within the state develop a Pandemic Emergency Plan and post that plan to their website.  Please keep in mind that this plan is not specific to COVID-19 but is intended for any pandemic.
Physical therapy is a covered benefit by most insurances when ordered by your health care provider or with an initial evaluation by a physical therapist and a follow up order from your doctor.

Willow Point Rock Garden and Button Tree

COVID-19 has changed our world forever, and we will not forget the impact it had on our community and facility starting back in May of 2020.  We were faced with an incredible challenge that we hoped to never endure.  Our residents, community, and staff banded together to overcome this hardship.  We never want to forget how it changed us and we wanted to make sure to remember all of the residents who had to personally deal with this new threat.

The Willow Point Rock Garden was our way of letting the residents know how much we care for them.  This has been a very difficult time and we all felt our COVID positive residents needed to be acknowledged.  We have beautiful gardens around the building and felt this could be a way of honoring them.

Lady Bugs were chosen to populate the garden, as they are known in belief to be the embodiment of Lady Luck. The volume of Lady Bugs are meant to symbolize and usher in good fortune and prosperity along with them.  We have placed a Lady Bug in the garden for each resident who has fought or is still fighting against COVID, and the Lady Bug shall remain even if the fight was regretably lost.

Willow Point Button Tree

COVID-19 has made us all feel helpless to some degree, and this goes for each resident who was diagnosed with COVID-19.  Our Button Tree is a way to make the residents part of something they could see, and touch during the pandemic.  Many of the residents were able to pick a colored button themselves and place it on the tree.  The tree is a sign of strength, peach, individuality, and immortality that reminds us how strong we truly are.
